Mayoral Forum: Shaping a Livable Historic City: The Challenges of Calling New Orleans Home

Mayoral Forum to Be Held September 19 at Loyola University New Orleans


Join us for a mayoral forum where the three leading mayoral candidates will address questions surrounding the theme “Shaping a Livable Historic City: The Challenges of Calling New Orleans Home.” 


The event, free and open to the public, will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017 in Nunemaker Auditorium, floor 3 of Monroe Hall, at Loyola, 6363 St. Charles Ave. Free parking will be available on the campus of Loyola on the night of the event at the West Road Parking Deck. 


The invited candidates will address the future of the city of New Orleans on the eve of its Tricentennial. Discussion topics include housing costs and density, short-term rentals and the impact of tourism on neighborhoods, enforcement of the master plan and zoning law, preservation and its economic effect, infrastructure, and transportation.
